Janice Ciavaglia is a teacher who obtained her bachelor’s degree from  Queen’s University, Bachelors of Education from Nipissing University and Masters of Education from Mount St. Vincent University.  She spent her early teaching years in Northern Ontario but spent the majority of her career in Nova Scotia working with Mi’kmaw Kina’matnewey as a Literacy Consultant.  Janice has spearheaded programs such as Library in the Classroom, Adopt A Library and ITunes U courses for Mi’kmaw teachers.  When Janice is not working with teachers she can be found writing for Nelson Education, Scholastic Education and recently wrote a levelled text for Pearson Education.  Janice began working with the Assembly of First Nations in August of 2017.
