Jennifer Southcombe works for Black Gold Schools as an Instructional Designer & Dual Credit Lead Teacher. This role involves maintaining, developing & sharing a collection of over 200 blended and online courses for Black Gold teacher and student use. As dual credit lead teacher, she develops opportunities, builds community partnerships and supports students success in dual credit programming. An Instructional Design secondment with Alberta Education and the completion of a Masters of Education specializing IT provided a mix of practical and theoretical understanding of designing learning experiences. She enjoys teaching in non-traditional, alternative learning environments and highly values her times working as a teacher in the Outreach School and Virtual School. She is passionate about providing students flexible and engaging learning experiences to meet their interests and needs. This passion lead her to be one of the founding member of the Alberta blendED Symposium committee.
