As pressures derived from test-based accountability and international competitions on large scale assessments increase, educators find themselves placed in the precarious position of meeting pre-established targets on the one hand and responding to the diverse interests and needs of their students on their other. Yet classroom teachers are those professionals in sustained interaction with students who are entrusted with their education and their wellbeing. What is some of the best work being done today by educators who are maintaining the integrity of the profession while also making sure that their students truly are reaching their full potential? This interactive symposium will highlight some of the most exciting work being done by teachers and principals around the world to combine student achievement with professional integrity.
