The Martin Aboriginal Education Initiative (MAEI) has implemented a variety of projects across Canada to improve results for elementary and secondary Indigenous students. This presentation will explain the goals and activities of these projects. There will also be a discussion of what MAEI has learned and what further actions must be taken to improve Indigenous student success.

Dr. Carlana Lindeman

Dr. Carlana Lindeman has served as the Education Program Director for the Martin Aboriginal Education Initiative (MAEI) since its inception in 2008. She was formerly a teacher, principal, Education Officer and Regional Manager for the Ontario Ministry of Education. In 2009 she was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by Ontario for service she provided to students, families and communities.
